July 23rd-26th, 2004

In the middle of an extremely productive writing process, Sam and Jennifer show up. Sam is a friend of Johanne from university and we spend a few days hanging out and sharing our secrets about San Cristobal. I enjoy the possibility to get to know these characters. We party hard one night and finish our bottle of Mezcal, which had been waiting for the occasion. One afternoon sees us take to the countryside to do some bird watching in a small mountain reserve. It’s great to have the opportunity to sit and talk with good people whether the topic be our bi-colored plastic plant club back in Montreal or Sam’s vine to vine swinging expeditions.

July 26th-August 2nd, 2004

We finish off our articles and prepare to begin cycling once again. The increasing need to move on has become more and more present in the last week or so. We can’t wait to get on out of Mexico and into countries where we’ve never been. First off is Guatemala. We have begun to hit a local mini cinema about once a day in order to calm our nerves.
